The Jr. Black and Junior Varsity teams opened their seasons with good wins. The Jr. Black traveled to Stanardsville to play Blue Ridge at Greene Hills GC. The Tigers prevailed 162-165. Fifth former Tyler Grills led the way with a one over-par round of 36.
The Junior Varsity hosted Eastern Mennonite in their opener, and the young Tigers easily won 172-191. Fourth formers Richard Hunt and Billy Mott each carded a four over-par round of 39.
Unfortunately the Varsity group lost its opening match to Covenant, 151-155. The speedy greens of Old Trail GC proved difficult for the Tiger six. Fifth former Shep Hardison was low for Woodberry with a two over-par 38.
The Varsity will be in action again Friday vs. Collegiate at the CCV-Tuckahoe Creek course in Richmond.

Pinehurst 2011--Spring Break
Seven members of this year's golf team traveled to Pinehurst with Coaches Amos and Hogan for four days of golf. The team stayed and played both courses at the Forest Creek Golf Club. We were hosted by the Dalrymple family for 36 holes of golf on the Dogwood and Cardinal courses at the Country Club of North Carolina, and then later had a cookout with the Dalrymples. Finally we played two famous Donald Ross courses, Mid-Pines Golf Club and Pine Needles Golf Club, site of the 2014 U.S. Women's Open.
