WFS golfers in MAPGA/VSGA Jr. Four-Ball

Saturday update:

Woodson Smith and Andrew Jacobs shot 71 (-1) and are tied for 4th in the MAPGA/VSGA 3rd annual Junior Four-Ball Championship. This year's site is the par 72 6800 Williamsburg Golf Club.

Varsity Golf finishes 2nd at Congressional HS Invitational

The Tigers played well and finished second to a strong Georgetown Prep team Tuesday in the inaugural Congressional HS Invitational at the Congressional Country Club's Blue Course in Potomac, MD. Basil Boyd tied for medalist with a one-over par 73 on the 6727 yard, par 72 layout. The Blue Course was the site of the 1997 and 2011 US Open Championships.

JV defeats Collegiate

The JV Golf Team defeated Collegiate today by 24 strokes, 160-184. 

Will Long was the match medalist with a 1-over par, 36.

Varsity golf loses 2016 Disharoon Cup match

The Tigers traveled Friday to Baltimore to play the 14th Disharoon Cup vs. St. Paul's School. Baltimore Country Club's West Course was the site.

The Disharoon Cup format is six singles matches worth 3 points, and three fourball matches worth one point. Tied matches earn 1/2 a point. There are 21 points available. 

Playing in extremely cold and windy conditions, the home team won for the first time in eight years, 12.5-8.5. The series now stands WFS 9, St. Paul's 5.
