Forest (1-0) played its first golf match in more than a year and came
away with an impressive 141-158 win over visiting St. Anne's Belfield
yesterday. The one-over-par team score is the lowest for the Tigers
since April 24, 2018, in a win over Trinity Episcopal, 141-150.
Senior
Benny Haggin was the medalist with a two-under-par round of 33. Fifth
former Coops Cooper added a 34, while classmate Turner Edwards carded an
even-par score of 35. Senior John Tandberg and fifth former Bennett
Perry each had four over rounds of 39, while fourth former Graham Roberts shot 40.
Four
Tigers (Cooper, Tandberg, Perry, and Roberts) were playing in their
first varsity match, while Edwards was competing in his first home
match.
Cooper Lowell led the Saints with a one-under-par score of 34.
Woodberry Forest next plays Trinity Episcopal on Friday, October 16.
