Fall golf defeats STAB

Using their superior depth, the Tigers won an impressive 23.5 - 7.5 victory over St. Anne's Belfield in a 12-hole match-play format. The nine singles matches were worth three points, and four fourball matches were worth one point apiece. Thirty-one total points were at stake.

In the first game, seniors Benny Haggin and John Tandberg won their fourball match 3&2. Benny took all three points in his singles match, and John won one of three points in his singles match.

On hole 4, Coops Cooper and Bennett Perry both had dramatic birdies to conclude their matches. Bennett's birdie gave him a 2-1 victory in his match, while Coops's putt earned him a halve. The fifth formers won their fourball match 2 up.

Turner Edwards teamed with William Andrews in the third game to win their fourball 5&3. Turner won all three points, while William battled back after falling behind on the back to win 2.5 of three points in his singles match.

Logan McNabb won all three points in his singles match and teamed with fellow fourth former Graham Roberts to win their fourball 4&3. Graham took two of three points in his singles match.

Finally, Griffin Warlow lost the first point in his match, then won the back and made a clutch par on hole 9 to halve the overall.

The Tigers improved to 3-0 this fall and take on Trinity Christian on Friday, October 23.
