Woodberry Forest successfully defends Disharoon Cup

The Tigers opened their home golf season Saturday versus St. Paul's of Baltimore in the 9th annual Disharoon Cup. There are six singles matches and three fourball (better ball) matches with 21 points at stake.

Coming into the match, Woodberry had won the last three Cups, the first time that had been accomplished in the series. Thanks to the team's depth and steady play, Woodberry easily defeated the Crusaders 15 1/2 to 5 1/2 to garner its fifth Disharoon Cup.

The Disharoon Cup honors Mr. and Mrs. Leslie B. Disharoon whose personal generosity, devotion to education, and great fondness for the game of golf brought this event into being.
